Our Story

Started from a simple passion and now we are here…

 

Since taking over the cupcake corner in 2013, Pinky’s has expanded the menu and rebranded the company as our own. We are still baking the traditional cupcake as the main product in the showcase. 

 

Pinky and her family moved to Canada in 1999, leaving a refugee camp in Thailand. Her family were sponsored by a Canadian family and grew up in Riverton, Manitoba. This was where her passion for baking started.  Her sponsor taught Pinky and mother how to bake breads and other delicious sweet treats.  She would often smell freshly baked goods every day. With fresh ingredients, family recipes and simple flavours, her interest for baking and cooking started at a young age. Pinky continued to work in the food industry for many years after we moved to Winnipeg.

 

Pinky decided to study to be a pastry chef at Red River College and obtained new skills and inspiration which is the base of Pinky’s Bakeshop.  Pinky and her team continue to test new recipes adding Asian fusion to traditional baked good and having fun in the kitchen.
